Who is Lauren Vlcek?

I am Lauren Vlcek, owner of Outside the Blocks, LLC. I am a professional longarm quilter with a diverse and creative quilting background including design, piecing, quilting, and label creation.

I truly enjoy creating many different types of quilts from modern and art quilts to folk art and traditional styles. This helps me understand a wide variety of customer needs, from design aesthetics to construction and finishing. As a longarm quilter the smallest details are as important to me as the overall design. I strive to provide the highest quality machine quilting.

I co-authored the book, Fabric Embellishments, Basics and Beyond, which is a technique workbook with instructions for creating unique artwork on fabric. I edited and contributed quilts and quilting to Susan Cleveland's most recent publication, Dynamic Dresdens.

I've had the pleasure of appearing twice on www.TheQuiltShow.com with Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims. The first time to highlight two techniques from my book; reverse appliqué frames and deconstructed crazy quilting.
